I was offered a sweet position with a technology company that provides web app and mobile app development.
My new position and responsibilities.
Officially, I’m the Director of Operations at Omega Ortega. Unofficially, that is a fancy way of saying, I do all the hard work!
I will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the business, oversee the growth and development of the company, manage client relationships, oversee new product development, and oversee all marketing.
I’m sure I’m leaving something out…but you get the idea!
I’m referring to this as “my midlife crisis” (ok so I’m only 30, but that feels old to me) because I have dreams for doing things bigger and better. Dreams that were inspired from the years of experiences I’ve had working with small business owners. Dreams that I can not achieve on my own.
Additionally, I’m still trying to decide what I want to be when I grow up!
The decision wasn’t an easy one for me. I’ve been developing websites and marketing strategies for a lot of years and I love it, but I realize I needed to be a part of something bigger! There are a lot of changes that will transpire over the next couple of years in the web and digital industries, and at Omega Ortega I can be on the front line.
What this means for my company.
exPRESS< it > Web Design will continue to operate fully until December 31 2013.
At the start of the new year, I will be closing the business. BUT…
I will continue to provide services as a freelancer. (more on what that means below)
If you’ve been planing on a new project, now is the time to send in your request for proposal!
What this means for my clients.
Because I will still be available as a freelancer, you don’t have to find a new web developer!
However, doing things as a freelancer (which means I wont have the 4 person team I have now) my time will be limited, so the number of projects and new clients I can take on will be limited. Additionally, I wont be offering all of the services that exPRESS< it > currently does.
Service I’ll continue to provide:
- WordPress Website Development (includes ecommerce)
- Search Engine Optimization
- Marketing Strategy Consulting
- Email Marketing Strategy Consulting
- Social Media Strategy Consulting
- Issue Resolution (support)
- Ripoff Prevention (get a second opinion before you hire someone else)
I will continue to blog about marketing and web design. I will continue to publish solutions to problems and tutorials. And I will continue to serve as a resource.
My emails will remain active and I’m committed to helping each of you as much as I can! So don’t hesitate to send me an email or give me a call, I’m not abandoning you!
These are exciting times, and I hope you’ll stick with me through this journey!
