About Me

The person behind the log.

The log on the homepage covers what I’ve built. This page is about who’s building it.

The short version

I’m Chris. I live in Queen Creek, just outside Phoenix. Husband. Dad of four. And somehow already a grandpa.

I fix things for a living. Mostly WordPress sites, forms, and the software small businesses actually run on.

Family comes first. I learned that the hard way.

At the end of 2024, I had an honest talk with myself. I was about to turn 42. I was tired, burned out, and spending my time on work I didn’t even want.

Worse, I was trading time with the people who matter most for it. Missing the life I had while chasing the one I thought I wanted.

So I changed it. Fewer ideas. Less chasing. More time at home.

The work got better too. Funny how that works.

Faith is the foundation

I’m a person of faith, and it shapes how I work.

Here’s the thing I keep coming back to: the why comes first. Get the reason right. Serve people for real, not as a tactic. The rest tends to follow.

I write about that side of life in the Faith articles.

I’m the fixer

Clients used to call me “the fixer.” It stuck because it’s true.

The best part of every job I’ve had was solving someone’s actual problem. Not selling them something. Solving it.

When a job turned into selling instead of helping, I walked away from it. That’s still the line. Whether it’s support at Gravity Forms, a client at WP Mantis, or a tool I’m building, the goal is the same: fix the real problem.

A few more things about me

  • I’m an introvert. Crowds drain me. A quiet problem and a good audiobook recharge me.
  • I once traded my desk for a jackhammer. I spent a year doing landscape demo and installs with my brother. Hardest work I’ve done. I loved it.
  • I’d rather build the tool than settle for one that almost fits. That’s how most of my plugins started.
  • I’m still learning in public. The articles are me working things out as I go, scope creep and all.
