Why Simple Share Buttons?

Most sharing tools either drag in analytics pixels, clutter every page, or bury you in settings. Simple Share Buttons does the opposite: you drop in a shortcode where you want sharing, pick the networks, and move on. Readers get familiar share actions; you keep control of performance and privacy.

Lightweight

No third-party tracking scripts. Pure vanilla JavaScript and minimal CSS.

Customizable

Control which networks appear, how many are visible, and the color of the button.

Responsive

Works beautifully on desktop, tablet, and mobile. Sizes adapt automatically.

Accessible

ARIA labels, keyboard navigation, Escape to close, and respects prefers-reduced-motion.

Fast

Assets load only when the shortcode is present. No bloat on other pages.

Collapsible

Set the number of icons to show by default. Expand to reveal the rest on click.

See It in Action

Add a shortcode anywhere shortcodes can be used. Change networks, colors, and visible icons in seconds.

9 Networks. One Shortcode.

Facebook, X (Twitter), Pinterest, Tumblr, LinkedIn, Reddit, WhatsApp, Telegram, and email. Pass any combination in the networks parameter and only those icons render.

How do I install?

Upload the plugin to your site, activate it under Plugins in WordPress, then use

in any post, page, or block that accepts shortcodes.

Which networks are supported?

Facebook, X (Twitter), Pinterest, Tumblr, LinkedIn, Reddit, WhatsApp, Telegram, and email. List the ones you want in the networks attribute, comma-separated.

How do I customize the look?

Use button_color=”#yourhex” for the button background. Use collapsed=”#” to show only the first # icons before expanding. Fine-tune further with your theme CSS targeting the plugin’s classes.

Does it load on every page?

No. Assets enqueue when the shortcode appears in that page’s content (and the plugin checks for it on singular content), so you are not adding global weight for a feature you use in one place.

These are not real buttons, just a visual example.
